Wheat futures surged across major U.S. exchanges on March 13, 2026, with Chicago SRW up 16 cents, Kansas City HRW rising 20 cents, and Minneapolis spring wheat gaining 13 cents. USDA data shows wheat export commitments at 23.663 MMT, up 11% year-over-year but lagging the 99% average sales pace, while shipments exceed expectations at 77% of projections. South Korea’s overnight purchase of 50,000 metric tons of U.S. wheat boosted demand, coinciding with steady French crop ratings at 84% good/excellent. May and July 2026 contracts for CBOT, KCBT, and MIAX wheat all posted double-digit gains, with May KCBT hitting $6.33 and July MIAX reaching $6.60. Crude oil’s rebound of $1.19 supported broader commodity strength, amplifying wheat’s rally amid tight global supply dynamics.
