Five tech CEOs—Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Jensen Huang, and Michael Dell—lost a combined $26 billion in net worth on February 13, 2026, as AI-driven stock declines hit Tesla, Meta, Amazon, Nvidia, and Dell. Musk suffered the largest single-day loss at $8 billion, though his 2026 gains remain at $57 billion due to SpaceX and xAI valuations. Zuckerberg and Bezos lost $7 billion and $4 billion, respectively, amid investor skepticism over AI infrastructure costs. Dell’s shares plunged 9% after Lenovo warned of memory-chip shortages, erasing $5 billion from Michael Dell’s fortune. Nvidia’s Huang lost $2.5 billion as AI hardware spending concerns grew across the sector. Walmart heirs Jim, Rob, and Alice Walton gained over $4 billion combined as retail stocks surged, contrasting tech’s downturn. Their 2026 wealth growth now trails only Musk’s among global billionaires. The world’s 10 richest individuals added $600 billion in 2025, but Thursday’s sell-off highlighted volatility in AI-dependent tech stocks, raising questions about long-term profitability of heavy AI investments.
