Soybean futures fell 4–7 cents at midday Tuesday, with cash prices dropping to $10.91, down 4.5 cents. Soymeal and soy oil also declined, reflecting broader market softness. U.S. soybean planting reached 6% as of Sunday, exceeding last year’s 2% and the 5-year average. Only Iowa lagged behind, while other major states advanced planting. Brazil’s soybean crop hit a record 179.15 MMT, up 1.3 MMT from March, with yields rising to 54.96 bushels per acre, per CONAB data. China’s March soybean imports surged 14.9% year-over-year to 4.02 MMT, signaling strong demand despite global price fluctuations. NOPA’s March crush report, due Wednesday, is expected to show 229.98 million bushels processed, a key indicator for market sentiment.
