Soybean futures fell 5 to 13¾ cents on Monday, closing at $10.95¾ per bushel, marking a 1.2% drop in the national cash average amid late-session pressure. US soybean planting reached 6% as of April 13, 2026, exceeding last year’s 2% and the five-year average, signaling accelerated early-season progress. Weekly export inspections rose 1.2% from the prior week and 46.8% year-over-year, with China as the top destination (345,815 MT), though annual shipments remain 25.2% below 2025 levels. Brazil’s harvest advanced to 87% completion, per AgRural, potentially easing global supply constraints despite weaker US export volumes. Crude oil gained $1.42 after US-Iran deal talks stalled, but soybean-related commodities—soymeal and soy oil—declined, reflecting broader market volatility.
