Soybean futures rose 4 to 7½ cents Thursday morning, nearing fall highs, driven by soybean meal strength after Wednesday’s 8–10 cent gains in meal contracts. March soybean contracts closed at $11.48¼, up 8¾ cents, while May futures hit $11.65, reflecting a shift in open interest—down 26,072 in March but up 12,641 in May. Argentina’s drier forecast boosted meal prices, with front-month soymeal futures jumping $4.40–$7.60 and soy oil up 7–23 points, signaling supply concerns. November soybeans averaged $11.07 this month, 53 cents higher than 2025, as crop insurance price discovery nears its final two days. USDA’s upcoming export report may show 0.4–1 MMT in soybean sales, with meal exports estimated at 250,000–500,000 MT, amid EPA’s 2026 biofuel mandate review.
