New Fortress Energy completed a landmark debt-for-equity exchange on March 17, 2026, restructuring its balance sheet through a consensual agreement with major creditors. The deal uses a U.K. Restructuring Plan (RP) process, allowing debt conversion to equity while maintaining operations, avoiding bankruptcy, and preserving shareholder value pending approval. CEO Wes Edens called it one of the largest successful consensual restructurings ever, emphasizing creditor alignment and minimal operational disruption during the transition. The transaction includes a slide deck presentation detailing terms, available on the company’s investor relations page under "Events and Presentations." Shareholder approval remains pending, but the plan aims to stabilize finances and position the company for long-term growth post-restructuring.
