Dear Fix My Portfolio, How do I know that my money is safe with my financial adviser and feel sure they are not running a Madoff-type Ponzi scheme? Besides a monthly statement, how do I know my money is there and accessible to me? It’s very scary to give my entire 401(k) and other cash assets for somebody to manage.
