Bill Ackman’s Pershing Square hedge fund revealed a $2 billion stake in Meta, representing roughly 10% of its capital, citing the company as a top AI integration beneficiary. The fund argues Meta’s stock is undervalued, overlooking long-term AI-driven growth potential despite its flat 2026 performance and 7% annual decline. Meta’s $135 billion data center spending spree, criticized by Wall Street, briefly boosted shares by 8%, with Ackman backing the aggressive AI investment strategy. Pershing Square also holds 13% in Amazon and 2% in Hertz, but Meta’s 3.5 billion-user ad dominance remains central to its AI-driven bull case. Ackman’s thesis hinges on Meta’s user growth and ad leadership, framing it as uniquely positioned to capitalize on AI advancements long-term.
