Applied QAOA to a real combinatorial problem (genomic variant selection)- feedback on the QUBO formulation?

Understand this faster with AI
I applied QAOA to a real (simulated) problem: selecting the best combination of genetic variants linked to familial hypercholesterolemia. Setup: - 4 variants (PCSK9, LDLR, APOB), 16 combinations - QAOA via Qiskit Aer, Elastic Net for phenotype prediction - Honest benchmark: QAOA is 6671× slower than brute force at this scale - The point is building infrastructure for 30+ variants (~1 billion combinations) Validated with negative controls and population-level analysis. Open source, Apache 2.0. Looking for feedback on the QAOA implementation, especially the QUBO formulation and constraint encoding.
