About
SynthBits Technology is a Chicago-based quantum hardware company founded in 2024 by Berk D. Kovos, Ph.D. The company is developing a quantum-bit platform based on transition metal molecular qubits. Its proprietary qubits are optically addressable, nanometer-sized, economically mass-producible, and compatible with biochemistry. SynthBits is first targeting quantum microscopy, where it aims to provide highly sensitive multi-channel, multi-modal imaging of biological samples to support advances in medicine, diagnostics, and research. The company grew out of research at the University of Chicago's Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering and is backed by the QAI Ventures Accelerator, the Duality quantum accelerator, and Chain Reaction Innovations at Argonne National Laboratory. SynthBits is also a corporate partner of the Chicago Quantum Exchange.
