SeQure Quantum is a Chilean quantum cybersecurity startup founded in 2019. It was incubated at the Universidad de Concepcion and spun off from the University of Concepcion and the University of Gdansk in Poland. The company specializes in quantum random number generation systems that produce device-independent, self-testing certified random numbers to thwart cyberattacks. It built the first quantum computer made in Chile and was named Startup of the Year 2023 by El Mercurio newspaper and the Swiss Embassy. SeQure Quantum has raised $128 million in funding, and in 2023 it opened a Poland-based office for European market relations. In 2024, the company partnered with Thales to develop technologies for the space market, and it is advancing medical cybersecurity with quantum technology in Chile. Its solutions protect the healthcare, space, and enterprise sectors from quantum threats.
