Scout Ventures is a New York-based venture capital firm that invests exclusively in frontier and dual-use technologies built by founders from the military, intelligence community, and premier research labs. Its focus areas include AI, machine learning, quantum computing, robotics, advanced materials science, security, space and aerospace, and advanced energy. Scout leads seed rounds with $2-5 million checks and keeps capital in reserve to follow on through Series B. With more than 50 portfolio companies spanning AI, autonomy, space systems, robotics, and advanced materials, Scout became one of the early members of the Quantum Economic Development Consortium (QED-C), a federal and commercial consortium aimed at expanding U.S. leadership in global quantum research and development. The firm's team consists primarily of U.S. service academy graduates and former military and intelligence operators who have also founded companies, giving Scout particular insight into defense and national security applications of quantum technologies.
