About

The Quantum Economic Development Consortium (QED-C) is a US industry consortium of more than 250 companies, universities, and government organisations. It was established under the 2018 National Quantum Initiative Act and is managed by SRI International. QED-C runs technical advisory committees covering enabling technologies, hardware, software, applications, workforce, and standards. It publishes the Quantum Workforce taxonomy and quantum-ready use cases, and serves as the main industry interface to NIST, DOE, NASA, and the US Office of Science and Technology Policy. Its Quantum Summit, held each spring in Washington DC, is the canonical US quantum-policy event. Update 2026-02-27: QED-C announced advances in quantum control electronics improving size and manufacturability for quantum hardware systems.
