About
Piquasso is a full-stack open-source software platform for simulating and programming photonic quantum computers, developed by the Budapest Quantum Computing Group. It is programmed through a high-level Python interface that supports quantum computing with both discrete and continuous variables, and optional high-performance C++ backends give it strong performance for photonic simulation. An ergonomic drag-and-drop web interface makes it easy to share simulation data and collaborate. The platform was developed at the HUN-REN Wigner Research Centre for Physics and Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, with support from the Ministry of Culture and Innovation and the National Research, Development and Innovation Office through the Quantum Information National Laboratory of Hungary. It was published in the Quantum journal in 2025.
