About
Pine.ly is a Toronto-based quantum computing startup founded in September 2019 that accelerates the development of sustainable materials and catalysts. It uses quantum computing and classical simulations to optimize chemical systems, developing computational methods to model molecular interactions and chemical reactions for drug discovery, catalyst design, and sustainable materials. The company was founded by Rachelle Choueiri, who holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Toronto, and Shabnam Safaei, who holds a Ph.D. in physics from Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa and was a Research Fellow at the Centre for Quantum Technologies in Singapore. Both founders were Founders in Residence at Entrepreneur First Singapore and are Entrepreneurs of the Creative Destruction Lab Toronto.
