Optus, formally Singtel Optus Pty Limited, is an Australian telecommunications company founded in 1981 and headquartered in Sydney. A subsidiary of Singtel, it serves Australian telecommunications markets with mobile broadband and fixed-line services. Optus is exploring quantum networking technologies, including quantum key distribution trials and quantum-safe telecommunications infrastructure. It works with Australian quantum technology companies and research institutions on quantum communications, and is investigating quantum encryption to prepare its network infrastructure for quantum technologies.
