About
MiQro Era (微观纪元), legally Hefei Micro-Era Digital Technology Co., Ltd., is a quantum computing software company founded in February 2022 and headquartered in Hefei, Anhui Province, with an additional presence in Shanghai. The founding team comes largely from the University of Science and Technology of China, alongside members from Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Fudan University, and the University of Melbourne. The chief executive is Lu Chuan, a USTC condensed-matter physics PhD. Rather than building quantum hardware, the company develops quantum algorithms and application software that run on top of available quantum and classical computing resources. Its core methods center on high-precision quantum chemistry simulation and quantum combinatorial optimization, often combined with artificial intelligence. The company targets industries where molecular design is the bottleneck, especially biopharmaceuticals and advanced materials, and with Alphana Biotech it released the MiQro RNA platform, which both firms describe as China's first quantum-computing-based mRNA drug design platform. MiQro Era closed a Pre-A round of tens of millions of yuan in June 2024, co-led by Hefei High-tech Investment and Kunlun Capital. In 2025 the Shenzhen-listed company Zhite New Materials came on board as a strategic shareholder, and the two set up a joint venture to commercialize quantum-plus-AI materials research. In January 2026 the company announced a Series A of nearly 100 million yuan, which is roughly 14 million dollars, led by Rong Yi Investment with participation from Spinel Capital. Although a 2026 funding list tagged MiQro Era as a superconducting company, it is a quantum software and applications firm, not a superconducting hardware maker. Where it touches superconducting systems it does so through partners such as the Quantum Tech Yangtze Delta Industrial Innovation Center, which supplies hardware support while MiQro Era contributes the algorithm and software laye
