About
The Latin America Quantum Computing Center (LAQCC) is Brazil's first Center of Excellence in Quantum Computing dedicated to the business sector. Founded on May 5, 2021, through a partnership between Atos and SENAI CIMATEC in Salvador, Bahia, it promotes the adoption of quantum technologies, trains a local quantum computing workforce, and encourages scientific research in chemistry, biology, and other areas. The center hosts Brazil's first Atos Quantum Learning Machine, named CIMATEC KUATOMU, which uses classic supercomputing hardware to simulate quantum systems and algorithms of up to 35 qubits. LAQCC enables business users to build technological roadmaps, conduct impact studies, investigate algorithms, and run applied research projects. The partnership brings together French multinational IT company Atos and SENAI CIMATEC, Brazil's leading education, research, and innovation institute, to advance quantum computing across Latin America.
