About
KuSpace Technologies, also spelled CuSpace or QSpace Technologies, is a Russian startup founded in 2018. It works with MISIS University and the Russian Quantum Center (RQC) on satellite quantum key distribution experiments and supplies ground station equipment for quantum satellite links. Scientists from MISIS, RQC, and KuSpace ran a joint experiment on quantum cryptography between Russia and China, beginning work with China's Mo-tzu (Mozi) quantum satellite in 2019. The ground station in Zvenigorod, built by KuSpace, exchanged encoded images with a Chinese ground station in Nanshan, demonstrating quantum-encrypted communication over 3,800 km between the station near Moscow and Urumqi via the Mozi satellite. In the summer of 2023, the prototype quantum satellite Impulse-1, developed by NUST MISIS and KuSpace Technologies, launched from the Vostochny cosmodrome carrying equipment to test laser communication channels. KuSpace provides quantum satellite communication technologies and ground station infrastructure supporting Russia's quantum communication network and international quantum cryptography work.
