About
JPMorgan Chase & Co. is an American multinational financial services firm founded in 1799. It runs one of the largest in-house quantum technology programmes in finance through its Global Technology Applied Research group, led by Marco Pistoia. The group operates a quantum-secured crypto-agile network (Q-CAN) that connects two of the firm's data centres over deployed fibre, with a third research node for next-generation quantum-networking experiments. Working with Toshiba and Ciena, JPMorgan demonstrated a metropolitan QKD network capable of 800 Gbps data rates, suitable for mission-critical blockchain applications. Its quantum research spans portfolio optimisation, derivatives pricing, fraud detection, and post-quantum migration for banking infrastructure. In January 2024, JPMorgan led the $300M funding round into Quantinuum at a $5B valuation. In 2025 it partnered with Quantinuum, Argonne, Oak Ridge, and UT Austin on a certified-randomness milestone.
