About
Conductor Quantum is a quantum computing startup building quantum computers on silicon chips with AI-powered qubit fabrication. It was founded in 2024 by Brandon Severin (CEO) and Joel Pendleton (CTO), both Oxford University PhD researchers, and was accepted into Y Combinator's Summer 2024 batch (YC S24). The company's central innovation is AI software that creates qubits 1,000 times faster than current methods, which shortens the development cycle for silicon-based quantum processors. Brandon Severin developed AI for quantum computing in silicon during his PhD at Oxford, while Joel Pendleton studied physics at UCL before leaving his Oxford PhD to co-found the company. Conductor Quantum aims to make quantum computing more accessible and manufacturable by using existing semiconductor fabrication infrastructure together with AI optimization techniques, combining quantum physics and artificial intelligence to address scaling challenges in quantum hardware.
