About

Baidu Quantum was the quantum computing division of Baidu Inc., China's leading internet company, based in Beijing within Baidu Research. Baidu developed the Qianshi 36-qubit superconducting quantum processor in 2023 and the Liang Xi chip for error suppression, offered quantum cloud services, and built PaddleQuantum, an open-source quantum machine learning framework. In January 2024, Baidu closed its quantum computing division and donated its quantum laboratory, including the Qianshi hardware, to the Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Sciences (BAQIS).
