National Grid Plc’s Silicon Valley-based venture arm, National Grid Partners, was the lead investor as the UK utilities firm explores using quantum computers for energy and grid optimization, Nu Quantum said in a statement Wednesday. Venture capital firms Morpheus Ventures and Gresham House Ventures also joined the oversubscribed round, which the startup said originally targeted between $40 and $50 million.
