The immersive program runs 10 weeks at 40 hours per week with no prerequisites in mathematics or science, enabling graduates to enter roles building, operating, and maintaining quantum systems as the technology moves from laboratory research to commercial deployment. The second cohort recently completed training, with multiple graduates already hired by quantum companies in the Albuquerque area.The curriculum covers six core areas delivered through hands-on sessions:Workshop participants explored CNM’s instructional strategies with the goal of adapting elements for their own institutions. Faculty from the College of Southern Maryland and Palm Beach State College were among those attending, alongside representatives from colleges spanning multiple states.CNM developed the bootcamp in partnership with Sandia National Laboratories and serves as the lead institution for quantum technician workforce development within Elevate Quantum, the U.S. Department of Commerce-designated Regional Technology and Innovation Hub covering New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming.
