Romanian IT consultancy Vegacomp and global quantum education leader QURECA signed a strategic partnership to expand quantum training in Romania, targeting students, professionals, and organizations with courses and practical applications. The initiative supports Romania’s quantum infrastructure, including the RoNaQCI project—a 1,800 km quantum communication network linking six major academic hubs for cybersecurity, quantum computing, and future quantum internet development. The partnership offers 40+ quantum courses, tailored training for schools and companies, and access to an international learning platform, with some free programs and customized solutions for enterprise adoption. Vegacomp’s 2025-launched Quantum Communications division provides QKD equipment, post-quantum cryptography support, and educational kits, aligning with EU directives mandating PQC migration for critical infrastructure by 2026. The collaboration aims to bridge the quantum skills gap, helping Romanian telecom, IT, and public sectors prepare for quantum’s impact on security and digital infrastructure through technical and executive education.

PRESS RELEASE — Vegacomp Consulting, a Romanian provider of consultancy, training and integrated services for telecommunications, has signed a strategic partnership agreement with QURECA, the global leader in quantum technologies training and education. The collaboration aims to accelerate the development of quantum skills, education, and practical applications in Romania, supporting the country’s transition into the era of quantum technologies. Romania Enters the Quantum Era Quantum technologies are no longer confined to research laboratories. They are rapidly becoming an essential part of the strategic infrastructure for digital security and the future of the internet. Romania is already taking significant steps in this direction. Through the RoNaQCI project, approximately 1800 km of quantum communication infrastructure has been deployed over existing fibre optic networks, connecting six major academic centres: Bucharest, Constanța, Iași, Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara, and Craiova. This infrastructure provides the foundation for moving from theoretical exploration to real-world applications, particularly in: Cybersecurity and secure communications, Quantum computing, The future quantum internet. Expanding Access to Quantum Education Through this partnership, Vegacomp Consulting and QURECA will provide: Access to over 40 courses in quantum technologies, Training programmes for high school students, university students, and professionals, Customised training solutions for companies and organisations, Access to an international quantum learning platform, Some of these courses are free of charge, while others are tailored to meet the specific needs of organisations seeking to understand and adopt quantum technologies. “QURECA has established itself as the trusted leader in quantum education worldwide, and this partnership marks an important step in strengthening ties with the Romanian quantum ecosystem, supporting collaboration with key stakeholders and contributing to the country’s growing quantum ambitions” – Dr Araceli Venegas-Gomez, CEO and Founder of QURECA. From Education to Implementation: Building Quantum-Ready Infrastructure Beyond education, Vegacomp Consulting is actively contributing to the deployment of quantum-ready solutions through its Quantum Communications division, launched in 2025. The division provides: Educational kits for quantum communications, QKD (Quantum Key Distribution) equipment for building quantum-safe networks, Support for Romanian organisations transitioning to Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), in partnership with Black Bullet. This transition is becoming increasingly critical, as European directives recommend the migration of critical infrastructures to PQC solutions starting in 2026. Supporting Organisations in the Quantum Transition The partnership addresses a growing need among organisations across sectors—including telecoms, IT, cybersecurity, and public infrastructure-to prepare for the impact of quantum technologies. Vegacomp Consulting invites Romanian organisations interested in: Customised quantum training programs, Technical and executive-level education, Understanding the impact of quantum technologies on IT and telecoms security, to engage in dialogue and explore collaboration opportunities.
