Graduate student positions are fully funded through teaching assistantships and supervisor grants. The quantum information science and computing theory group includes professors Adam Bene Watts (Mathematics & Statistics), Xavier Coiteux-Roy (Computer Science/Physics & Astronomy), Connor Paddock (Computer Science), Carlo Maria Scandolo (Mathematics & Statistics), and Jinzhao Wang (Mathematics & Statistics). Research interests comprise: Quantum algorithms, complexity theory (Adam Bene Watts, Connor Paddock, Xavier Coiteux-Roy) Quantum information and resource theories (Carlo Maria Scandolo, Jinzhao Wang) Quantum foundations, entanglement, and nonlocality (Xavier Coiteux-Roy, Connor Paddock, Carlo Maria Scandolo, Jinzhao Wang) Quantum thermodynamics, information, and gravity (Carlo Maria Scandolo, Jinzhao Wang) The University of Calgary is a Canadian leader in Quantum Science and is home of the Institute for Quantum Science and Technologies (IQST), Quantum City (QC), and the newly founded Quantum Horizons Alberta (QHA).
